How about Seven Card Stud for Poker?

You have heard a lot of forms of card games. One of the most popular is poker. Poker has a very endearing factor to it. It can be played in most gentleman's clubs. It can be played at home. It can be played by men and women. And it has different forms.

One of the various forms of poker is seven card stud. Seven card stud is also called down the river, peek poker or seven toed pete. It is a variation of poker where the players are dealt seven cards. Four cards are dealt face up and the other three are dealt face down.

Seven card stud is similar to its sister variation, five card stud. There is also no ante in this form. The game allows two to eight players to play.

The game begins with the dealer distributing two face down cards and one face up card to the players. Face down cards are called hole cards. Each card is dealt one at a time to each player. The first bettor is the player with the highest face up card. He or she may put in the amount of chips agreed upon before starting the game or higher. The chips placed into the pot can be any amount as long as it is within the limit discussed before the game began.

The player after the first bettor or the person to the first bettor's left is the next to bet. He or she may call, raise or fold. The other players follow.

For the next round of cards, the dealer gives the active players another face up card. Betting resumes. The first bettor is always the person with the highest combination of their face up cards. The player to the left follows and so forth.

The dealer distributes two more rounds of face up cards to the active players and bets are placed for each round. In the last round, the cards are dealt face down to the remaining players. The final bets are made and the players now reveal their face down cards.

Each player must select five cards from his or her seven cards and discard the two unused cards. These five cards will be the hand in play. After the two unused cards have been discarded, the player cannot reclaim these cards if they realize that they could have had a better hand.

During one of the rounds, a player may fold his cards. When this happens, he or she must automatically turn over all of his face up cards. If only one player remains active or no other player has matched a bet, the bettor who made that bet wins the pot without having to show his or her cards to the rest of the players.

Simple enough? Just try it out. Seven card stud offers more chances of getting that winning hand for you to win the pot. Why not seven card stud in a game of poker?
